Description:
This position may require floating to multiple locations for coverage.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a general or vascular ultrasound department.
The Ultrasound Technician performs a variety of noninvasive diagnostic tests to detect vascular disease.
They are responsible for conducting patient assessments and providing basic patient care during tests.
The technician must independently conduct vascular testing including reflux studies, visceral examinations, and pulse volume recordings (PVR).
They are responsible for the transportation, loading, and unloading of equipment to various locations using personal transportation.
Ensuring accurate and reproducible data collection while following specific laboratory policies and protocols is essential.
Diagnostic test findings must be reported in a timely manner to physicians and hospital staff.
The position requires proper care and maintenance of all imaging equipment.
Sending the necessary billing and documentation for tests to the appropriate records is required.
Technicians must maintain high-quality imaging skills and adhere to professional standards.
Flexibility and adaptability in scheduling, including backup coverage on weekends and holidays, are required.
The ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively with patients, families, and coworkers is essential.
Technicians should be able to anticipate and resolve potential issues to ensure continuity of patient care.
Physical demands include standing, walking, and the ability to move patients and equipment as needed.
The employee must have the ability to focus and perform tasks requiring vision abilities.
There might be occasional responsibilities to assist with the transportation and safety of patients.
