GENERAL SUMMARY: BODYBAR Franchising, a fast-growing boutique Pilates franchise concept based out of Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a strategic and results-oriented leader to oversee the studio development process, starting after real estate signing through to Founders Week, and ensuring a seamless handoff to the open studio support team. This role involves managing and optimizing the design, construction, onboarding, and presales processes, including leading a team that supports franchisees in various capacities during presales. This role involves managing and optimizing the design, construction, onboarding, and presales processes, including leading a team that supports franchisees in various capacities during presales. Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Studio Development will play a key role in enhancing franchisee satisfaction, streamlining operations, and maximizing the efficiency and performance of the BODYBAR system during studio development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Studio Development and Process Management:
- Oversee the studio development process, supporting the real estate team in site selection and leasing, and directly managing the design, construction, onboarding, and presales phases to ensure a successful launch at Founders Week.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the studio development lifecycle to maximize efficiency, consistency, and franchisee satisfaction.
- Establish and monitor presale studio performance metrics, including client acquisition, retention, attrition, and compliance, to drive system-wide success.
- Design and execute revenue-driving strategies and presales campaigns in alignment with company goals, in collaboration with marketing and senior leadership.
- Conduct in-market presales visits and performance assessments, providing training and guidance to enhance studio outcomes.
- Foster cross-functional alignment between sales, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure consistency across design, construction, and presales initiatives.
- Stay informed of industry trends and conduct market research to continuously innovate growth strategies.
Presales Optimization
- Design and oversee presales campaigns, including pricing models, promotional strategies, and tools to drive membership acquisition.
- Analyze franchisee performance during presales, providing strategic insights and recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Ensure franchisees are equipped with the resources, training, and guidance necessary for successful presales campaigns.
- Oversee design, construction and presale compliance, ensuring system standards, vendors and procedures are followed across the network.
Operational Efficiency and Innovation:
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline studio launches, reduce time-to-open, and enhance presales performance.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to integrate tools and systems that support efficient studio setup and onboarding.
- Collaborate on presale focused revenue-generating campaigns, pricing strategies, and recommendations to increase profitability.
- Ensure onboarding materials and presales resources align with BODYBAR's brand and operational standards.
Strategic Partnerships and Vendor Relations
- Identify and develop partnerships with design, construction, and presale vendors to enhance studio revenue streams and optimize studio opening time, including pricing strategies, product offerings, and service expansions.
- Collaborate with vendors to implement systems that support presale studio operations and automation.
Reporting and Forecasting
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on studio opening schedules and presale performance, highlighting trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Develop forecasts and financial models to guide resource allocation and support growth initiatives.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing presales operations team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Manage team workflows, operations, and project timelines to meet organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and performance evaluations, addressing discipline as necessary in line with company policy.
- Ensure all training and collateral materials meet brand standards and secure necessary approvals before distribution.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Represent BODYBAR at industry events, conferences, and in community engagements to enhance brand visibility and establish thought leadership.
- Present growth strategies, progress reports, and outcomes to the senior leadership team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of experience in franchise operations, multi-site management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of driving presales growth and operational performance.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing presale strategies, including sales, marketing, and client engagement initiatives.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and marketing, to achieve business objectives.
- Proven ability to analyze KPIs, forecast performance, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve growth and profitability.
- Expertise in compliance management, design and construction processes, and brand standards within a franchised or multi-location business model.
- Familiarity with managing vendor relationships and identifying partnership opportunities to enhance business performance.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience in recruiting, training, and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and long-term growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with franchisees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional time management and project management abilities.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of industry trends in fitness, wellness, or franchising, with the ability to apply these insights to the BODYBAR brand.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (experience with tools like Salesforce, BI software, or similar platforms is a plus).
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to achieving shared goals.
- Willingness to travel for on-site studio visits (up to 50%), assessments, and training sessions.
- Passion for fitness and wellness, with an understanding of Pilates and boutique fitness concepts preferred.
