POSITION: Executive Controller
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Professional experience in the development, evaluation, analysis, and revision of budgetary control systems and in budget preparation and presentation, one (1) of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, one (1) of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
OR
Possession of a master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Government, Political Science, Economics, Industrial Engineering or Industrial Management from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, one (1) of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Oversees the daily operations and management of Accounting Dept., Purchasing/Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
- Provides the School Business Administrator with relevant, timely and accurate financial data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions.
- Coordinates and supervises preparation of the district budget.
- Prepares all fiscal reports including the annual financial report.
- Participates in internal audits and answers to federal, state, and county auditors.
- Develops, oversees and maintains appropriate internal controls and conducts process reviews as needed to ensure appropriate internal control measures are in place for compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements and to ensure safekeeping, accuracy, and appropriate processing of all balance sheet assets and all balance sheet liabilities.
- Ensures reconciliations for all significant accounts and owns the accounting ledger.
- Supervises the preparation of required reports and conducts special financial, statistical, and analytical studies.
- Develops uniform accounting procedures suitable to data processing methods.
- Establishes a schedule of external reporting and compliance requirements, along with the work plans to fulfill those requirements. This role must develop a firm understanding of the requirements, then establish the procedures for reporting at a level that can be reasonably delegated and supervised.
- Supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate personnel and provides overall direction of their training, provides overall supervision to Purchasing Department, Accounting and Payroll and other business related activities as assigned, and performs related duties as required.
- Explores, recommends and implements technological solutions to manual processes or other unresolved processing issues as a means to reduce errors, dramatically increase efficiencies, improve customer satisfaction and enact better controls.
- Ensures that day to day processes and workflow are in compliance with GAAP and industry standards; identifies and selects alternative reporting if options exist.
- Performs other duties as assigned to manage the finances of the organization.
