Your Tasks:
  • Responsible for the design and estimation of process equipment, including PT ED, Booths, Ovens, Work Decks and enclosures
  • Responsible for working from customer specifications, including developing equipment layouts and process equipment schematics
  • Responsible for developing technical documentation for inclusion in sales proposals
  • Responsible for liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors along with other Durr departments
  • Responsible for analyzing customer technical specifications
  • Responsible for coordinating in-house estimating activities including relevant drawings and specifications
  • Responsible for coordinating major subcontractors including conveyors, paint application, and paint mix
  • Responsible for coordinating intercompany activities with offices in Germany and Mexico
  • Responsible for developing layouts with layout engineer
  • Responsible for utilizing Visio, AutoCAD, mass balancing, fluid flow equations, heat transfer techniques, psychrometric charts reading, Datapaq charts reading, and paint processing to perform duties
  • Responsible for developing Visio schematics for paint process equipment
  • Responsible for developing Purchased Equipment lists
  • Responsible for investigating alternate sources for equipment and subcontractors
  • Responsible for developing detailed estimate spreadsheets for projects, management cost analysis and customer bid forms
  • Responsible for developing technical specifications and clarifications for bids
  • Responsible for developing project and job schedules
  • Responsible for coordinating job handover
  • Responsible for supporting job implementation by attending planning meetings and design reviews
  • Responsible for conducting technical presentations, and provide clarification to customers and other departments
  • Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US
  • Salary: $94,139 per year

Your Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
  • Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Estimator, as a Paint Line Coordinator, as a Project Engineer, or in a related occupation
  • Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years' use of all the following: Visio, AutoCAD, mass balancing, fluid flow equations, heat transfer techniques, psychometric charts reading, Datapaq charts reading, and paint processing
  • Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience
