The Office of Information Technology Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for an IT Administrator IV. This is a senior-level IT position that develops and maintains critical software, both in-house and vendor-provided, at both the system and application level. This position will require occasional night hours for system upgrades and maintenance. The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a high-impact, high-energy, forward-thinking department that simultaneously handles multiple, on-going projects in support of the mission and strategic goals of The University of Tennessee at Martin.
Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities
System Administration - Administering or co-administering all Banner-related Linux servers.
Database Administration - Administering or co-administering all Oracle for Banner, CAS, and Ellucian Degree Works.
Mid-Tier Administration - Administering all Banner-related Tomcat and Java installs.
Student Information System - Administering or co-administering Banner. Exercising consistent and regular high-level involvement with the Oracle database administrator and Banner technical community. Coordinating interfaces between Banner and third-party products (such as Slate).
Technical Support - Regularly enhancing knowledge of Linux, Oracle, and Banner, and providing internal training, mentoring, and cross-training to others within the Banner Application Development team. Serving as team lead for all Linux, Oracle, and Banner technical issues. Interfacing with the Office of Information Technology Services infrastructure team as needed.
Functional Support - Providing technical support to functional users, and consistently and regularly interfacing with functional users, primarily in the offices of Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, and Housing. Developing, maintaining, and improving in-house solutions that augment baseline functionality within Banner.

The minimum qualifications are:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience.
Experience administering a server;
Experience with relational databases;
Experience with SQL;
Experience with at least one high level language, such as Perl, Python, PHP, C++, Java, etc.;
Experience interfacing with at least one third-party system;
Ability to adapt to new programming languages and development tools;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to produce documentation at both functional and technical levels;
Ability to teach, mentor, and cross-train;
Ability to lead project teams of any size;
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying sizes and deadlines;
Ability to work both independently and in a team of any size;
Ability to productively debate technical issues with his/her peers;
Highly motivated and dedicated to both IT and higher education;
Other duties as assigned
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with an enterprise-level SIS;
Experience with Ellucian Banner;
Experience with Oracle Database;
Experience with PL/SQL
Experience with enterprise-level Linux;
