    • Soot Loading Control:
      • Develop and implement strategies to minimize soot accumulation in the GPF under various driving conditions.
      • Optimize regeneration strategies to effectively remove soot from the GPF while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions (e.g., NOx, HC).
      • Analyze and address potential issues related to soot loading, such as excessive soot accumulation, incomplete regeneration, and filter plugging.
    • PM Emissions Control:
      • Calibrate engine and aftertreatment systems to minimize PM emissions across the entire vehicle operating range, including transient and steady-state conditions.
      • Analyze and optimize GPF performance parameters, such as filter efficiency, pressure drop, and regeneration frequency.
    • Gasoline Emissions Control:
      • Collaborate with other calibration engineers to ensure optimal control of gasoline engine emissions, including NOx, HC, and CO, while minimizing their impact on GPF performance.
      • Analyze and address potential interactions between gasoline engine emissions and GPF operation.
  • Conduct bench and vehicle testing to evaluate GPF performance and validate calibration strategies.
  • Analyze test data using advanced data analysis techniques to identify trends, diagnose issues, and optimize calibration parameters.
  • Utilize engine simulation tools and other engineering software to model and predict GPF performance.
  • Develop and maintain calibration documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as engine design, aftertreatment development, and controls engineering, to resolve technical challenges.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in emissions regulations, aftertreatment technologies, and hybrid vehicle architectures.
  • May be required to support occasional travel for testing and meetings.
