Summary
We are looking for an Applications Analyst to assist with Greater Detroit Regional Sewer System (GDRSS) compilation and Wholesale Automated Meter Reading (WAMR) billing, Data and/or report creation, Web portal and mobile app development and support. Maintaining HTML, Javascript, Python, and Oracle PL/SQL code. Experience and ability to work with Business Systems, Web Systems, Enterprise Reporting, Enterprise Content Management and Business Process Integration.

Job Responsibilities

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of related work experience
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Acquire and maintain a vendor specific domain "associate" or "foundational" level certification (i.e. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Oracle Certified Associate), preferred

Additional experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work irregular hours, commute to GLWA facilities and work sites, and respond to after hour emergencies and on-call responses

The work requires the ability to distinguish colors and to hear audible alarms. Incumbents may be subject to potentially hazardous physical conditions, atmospheric conditions, extreme temperatures, intense noise, and/or vehicle traffic. Employees will also be required to pass a bio-mechanical physical.

Environmental Working Requirements:

Work is performed within an office, plant environment, remote sites, or other locations within the GLWA Service Area. Employees within this classification may be exposed to dust and electrical connections, and frequent work with computer equipment.
