Job Summary
The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Senior Manager works under the leadership of the AMC CDI Director as a strategic leader contributing to the long-term success of the Mass General Brigham (MGB) CDI program by providing day-to-day oversight of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Mass Eye and Ear (MEE) CDI team. The Sr. Manager is responsible for following MGB CDI enterprise established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines while guiding the MGH/MEE site-based CDI team to ensure key performance metrics are met by individual team members. The Sr. Manager is expected to participate in the training and onboarding process of all new hires, perform staff management duties, and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner that promotes a team approach and collaborative work environment for all. The individual in this role will have superior change management skills, exhibit mature leadership abilities, with the ability to communicate effectively and pivot priorities quickly. Responsibilities: Facilitate the hiring, training, and performance management processes for all MGH/MEE site-based CDI staff Oversee daily management of staffing, workflow, productivity, and quality for MGH/MEE site-based CDI program Ensure the competency of CDI staff through on-going quality reviews and skills assessments Monitor CDI Key Performance Indicators and provide feedback to CDI team Staff development Analyze, track, and trend CDI data Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and ancillary staff, including coding professionals, to resolve identified clinical documentation deficiencies and support accurate outcomes reporting Communicate appropriately and compliantly with providers and/or members of the clinical team Apply clinical knowledge and insight to assess clinical findings, validate integrity of clinical documentation and query provider(s) for clarification as applicable Use the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing required Registered Nurse with a current license in the state of Massachusetts 5 years of acute medical/surgical care nursing required 5 years of clinical documentation improvement experience required 3 years of management experience required Certification in Clinical Documentation preferred Academic Medical Center experience preferred Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide direct leadership to 20+ FTEs Working Conditions: This position is currently hybrid flex. Will be required, on occasion to travel into MGB sites due to business needs While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit while reviewing health records on laptop with monitor The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet tomoderate.
