Job Description

This Director position within Digital Innovation Solutions will be responsible to lead, manage and coordinate all staff and activities that fall under Web Development, Database Development, Administration, ETL & Reporting, QA Services and Enterprise Legacy Data Management. Responsible for management of the Web Development and QA teams to that architects, builds, conducts QA checks and deploys enterprise level, reliable, scalable and secure transformative digital solutions. Responsible for architecting, building, and support of Database, and BI platforms in on-prem and cloud environments. This involves working collaboratively with Database Administration, Software Development, Data Warehouse, Windows, Networking, Backup, and Operations Teams to deliver solutions that support our mission. Will be responsible to ensure that our Web applications are secure, user friendly and that application data is in sync and always up-to-date between upstream and downstream systems, fine-tune our application databases, and overall data management and analysis of the data across a variety of internal systems. Responsibilities also include working with product and business owners and departments to understand their needs, identify data mining opportunities, and design solutions.

The Solutions Director is also expected to design integration solutions to connect between relational & non-relational data sources and produce results in the form of real-time dashboards, and automated subscription-based reports that meet organizational information needs. This individual should be a self-starter, one who can work under limited supervision, who is able to lead and motivate, someone who is always learning, always a team player, has willingness to provide mentorship, collaborate on the use of tools and methodology, and share expertise.

Duties & Responsibilities

Web Development
  • Responsible for coordinating detailed discussions with Stakeholders to identify current processes and any pain points in current workflows, analyze all functional solution needs, and finalize requirements.
  • Management of design and building of enterprise level, reliable, scalable and secure transformative digital solutions to help drive automation, and to enhance and optimize manual business/operational processes and workflows
  • Stay at the forefront of technology that leverage product design and development best practices.
  • Responsible for handoff of tested applications for Security Review and Onboarding.
  • Responsible for handoff to Stakeholder for UAT testing and Production release once approved.

QA Services
  • Oversight and management of the QA team.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the QA strategy for Digital Innovation Solutions (DIS).

Establishing QA standards/best practices, and ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure our products and services meet or exceed quality standards (bug/error free) and customer expectations.
  • Implement automated testing solutions to streamline QA, reducing manual efforts and accelerating time to delivery.

Enterprise Legacy Data Management
  • Oversight and management of the Enterprise Legacy Data Management team.
  • Help architect, design and implement data migration strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Strategize, oversee, and execute all data migrations, ensuring data integrity.
  • Work closely with business data owners to identify and define their data migration needs.
  • Manage and support the Enterprise Legacy Data Migration Technology Stack.
  • Problem-solve, troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during any data migration processes.

Database Development & Administration
  • Manage and coordinate staff and activities that fall under database development & administration, ETL & Reporting within the Digital Innovation Solutions organization.
  • Design and develop databases, tables, stored procedures, triggers, views, indexes and functions.
  • Responsible for tuning and optimizing databases for performance (efficiency, reliability, scalability).
  • Architect/implement DB solutions with application developers.
  • Work with developers to analyze and troubleshoot data integrity or security issues.
  • Develop SQL queries and support ad hoc report requests.
  • Analyze complex data requirements and contribute to end-to-end application development.

BI (ETL & Reporting)
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes with consideration to fault-tolerance, error logging, auditing, and data quality.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Work closely with team and senior leadership to design and implement data solutions
  • Work as technical liaison between vendors and business to help translate business requirements into technical solutions that fulfills internal and external reporting/data needs.
  • Perform data analysis and develop source-to-target data mapping to/from multiple platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Monitor scheduled ETL jobs on daily basis.
  • Install, maintain and upgrade of Business Intelligence Production and Development environments and assist Infrastructure teams with upgrade/enhancement/patch-related implementation activities.
  • Develop SSRS reports for standalone dashboards and application reporting.
  • Maintain production SSRS environments in a scaled-out deployment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by collaborating with stakeholders and other analysts for outcome-related metrics.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; and
2. Six (6) years of experience in the field of data processing and computer systems and applications, of which three (3) years must have been in a supervisory role; and
3. Strong technical knowledge

Department Preferences

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:
  • A Bachelors of Degree in Data Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
  • Knowledge in web application development.
  • Knowledge of Epic Clarity and Epic Caboodle.
  • Knowledgeable in HTML, C#.NET, XML
  • Experience in data migration projects
  • Data analysis and mapping, strong proficiency in database management
  • Strong facilitation and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized with an obsessive eye towards planning and details.
  • Excellent follow up skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative and can self-manage domain specific work.
  • Strong project/process management skills and committed to continuously improve quality and effectiveness of own work.
  • Able to navigate across cross-functional teams to successfully accomplish role expectations.
  • Extensive experience in healthcare is preferred
  • Understanding of data management principles, including data mapping and data quality assurance.

Years of Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a technology administration capacity
