JOB SUMMARY-

The USF Health Division of Vascular Surgery, in partnership with Tampa General Hospital, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient Vascular Surgery Team. This role is designed for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with acute care certification or a Physician Assistant (PA). The APP will play an integral part in managing complex vascular surgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an academic service alongside residents and fellows while contributing to patient care, education, and research initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Inpatient Rounding: Conduct daily rounds on inpatient Vascular surgery service patients, including ICU, stepdown and floor patients and inpatient consults. Provide thorough documentation of patient care plans and progress. Collaborate closely with the attending physician, residents, and fellows to ensure seamless patient management.
  • Outpatient Care (as needed): Manage follow-up visits in the outpatient vascular surgery clinic. Support continuity of care by reviewing diagnostic tests, updating treatment plans, and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
  • Academic Service Participation: Work alongside residents and fellows on the academic vascular surgery service. Participate in the education of trainees and other healthcare professionals through teaching and mentorship. Attend weekly conferences and academic meetings as required by the vascular surgery team.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work in partnership with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Act as a resource for patients, families, and staff regarding vascular conditions and treatment plans.


TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and provider collaboration.
  • A commitment to advancing care through research and quality improvement.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
  • Active PA or APRN license in the state of Florida.
  • National certification as a PA-C or Acute Care NP
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in vascular surgery preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in patient assessment and critical care
  • Fellowship opportunity: Applicants without experience will be considered for a fellowship program designed to provide specialized training in vascular surgery
