Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for the medical and technical leadership and direction of all Carter BloodCare (CBC) operations.
The CMO serves with executive management, in sharing administrative duties under the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and helps provide leadership in the CEO's absence. This position serves as the administrative head of the Medical Services Department, including directly overseeing the Medical Directors.
Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.

Description

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree
- Licensed or eligible for a Texas medical license and the ability to obtain other state medical licensure, as needed
- Board-certified in transfusion medicine or in a related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in blood banking/transfusion medicine or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/administrative experience
- Minimum of 1 year of therapeutic apheresis experience, preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of cellular therapy experience, preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in a blood donor center setting, preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Current knowledge of blood banking, transfusion medicine and advanced biotherapy regulations and standard
- Team-building and interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to speak in front of professional groups
