Job Description
New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking an experienced and driven Executive Director to lead and oversee the success of the Snell Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Operating independently from NECS, the Snell Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that improve the lives of individuals impacted by cancer. This includes funding for patient grants that help to alleviate financial stressors like food insecurity, inability to pay household bills, transportation, temporary housing, and other conditions that may create financial toxicity.

NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from five separate locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Our mission is to make life better for people with cancer and blood disorders. Kindness, compassion, and respect are part of everything that we do - from our phone operators to our physicians, every person on our team is important, and everyone makes a difference every day.

Experience and Skills
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, with demonstrated success in grant writing, fundraising, and event planning.
  • Strong commitment to the Snell Foundation's mission and values, with a passion for supporting those affected by cancer.
  • Excellent strategic planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including board members, donors, and community partners.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • Skilled in public relations and community engagement.
  • Knowledge of compliance and governance requirements for nonprofit organizations.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelors Degree Masters preferred
