The Opportunity
As Senior R&D Engineer, you will spearhead the research, design, and development of innovative medical devices. With a focus on early-stage R&D-from conceptualization to feasibility-you will transform market and patient needs into groundbreaking designs, ready for successful commercialization through rigorous Design Controls.
What You'll Be Working On
- Generating creative solutions for products that can be manufactured and/or generate Intellectual Property
- Creating sketches, illustrations, electrical schematics, and prototypes of new and modified product designs for review.
- Developing, writing, and performing Design of Experiments for Intellectual Property (IP) and/or feasibility of materials, processes, and designs for product development.
- Preparing product build specifications to include (but not limited to) Drawings, BOM's, Manuals, and Process-Quality-Customer Service documents.
- Developing strategy, documenting, performing, and analyzing data from verification testing plans and providing objective conclusions with recommendations for product safety and efficacy.
- Developing, writing, and performing written protocols for validations that final design(s) meet user needs and are compliant with FDA, MET/UL, and/or other regulatory bodies.
- Working with Technicians, Outside Contractors, Suppliers, and OEM to complete technical tasks, assuring completeness and accuracy of all work performed for the company.
- Providing technical support as needed to other departments, vendors, and customers.
- Leading outside software and electronic hardware vendors by providing engineering support for product transfers of physiological software and hardware.
- Effectively collaborating with intra- and interdepartmental colleagues for efficient design ideation and problem-solving.
- Using effective speaking and visual presentation skills for management presentations, training, and technical presentations.
- Familiarity with analog and digital components and systems such as amplifiers, filters, and AD converters
- Applying your expertise in sensor, component, and/or system design for Neurological Diagnostic devices.
- Applying your expertise or application experience in physiological tests such as EEG, EMG, SSEPs
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited college or University
- 5-7 years of experience in medical device R&D or product design
- Experience with medical devices including sensor, component, and/or system design
- Experience with MRI technology including device conditionality
- Experience in CAD software such as Solidworks/Autodesk
- Experience in general prototype fabrication techniques
