JOB SUMMARY

IPG Photonics is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to drive direct sales of our innovative LightWELD product line. LightWELD, a hand-held laser welder, is reshaping the traditional welding market with its advanced laser technology. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging potential customers, managing the full sales cycle, and demonstrating the unique benefits of LightWELD to drive adoption in various industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to be part of a high-growth segment with cutting-edge technology.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Direct Sales Execution: Own and manage the full sales cycle for LightWELD products, from prospecting and lead qualification through to closing, with a focus on direct customer engagement.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, outreach, and follow-up on leads generated by marketing, tradeshows, and product demonstrations.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and positioning LightWELD as the ideal solution to meet their welding requirements.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct hands-on demonstrations and presentations to showcase LightWELD's capabilities, addressing customer questions and highlighting the product's unique value.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with the LightWELD sales team to align on sales strategies, share market insights, and refine approaches to drive growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and providing timely, professional support throughout the sales process.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain detailed records of all sales activities and opportunities within the CRM system, providing regular updates to management on sales pipeline and forecasting.
  • Market Insight Collection: Gather and report customer feedback and market insights to help refine LightWELD's product offerings and positioning.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Advanced certifications in sales, negotiation, or industry-specific knowledge considered a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of successful outside sales experience, with a proven record of handling complex sales and large territories/accounts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, competitor strategies, and client needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM tools and analytics for territory management.
  • Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and consultative selling capabilities.
  • Leadership skills to mentor junior sales representatives.
  • Independently manage large or strategic accounts and close high-value deals.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve long-term goals.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively provide solutions.
  • Consistently exceeds sales targets and demonstrates leadership in account management.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert within the sales team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • While laser experience is not required, prior engineering experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in industrial equipment or lase technology is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Essential physical requirements, such as standing, stooping, or typing
  • Travel requirements 25 - 50%
