POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing SVS Vision and Shopko Optical production labs under the direction of and in partnership with global Fielmann Manufacturing & Logistics. Maintain and improve productivity, quality, and product lead times to support profitability and customer service objectives. Lead production teams to achieve established KPIs to support the efficient production of patient eyewear. Lead the enhancement of production flows and the consistency of delivery of products to our stores. Ensure teammate training supports a competent workforce and a respectful workplace culture. Communicate with Executive Leadership Team to provide visibility to manufacturing priorities and outcomes and ensure key business information is provided to the lab teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC EXECUTION
Lead strategic direction of optical manufacturing processes and operations at all Fielmann USA optical labs
Provide continuous on site engagement with all manufacturing locations
Ensure safe, well maintained and organized groups of optical labs
Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Manage KPIs to company standards
Partner with supply chain and logistics departments to facilitate open communication on product flow and mitigate risk
Partner with outside vendors when necessary to ensure positive product lead times
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing team
Apply process improvement methodology on key strategic projects (to include Lean, DMAIC, Six Sigma)
Understand, oversee, and lead all activities related to process improvement
Support day-to-day post implementation maintenance on key strategic projects
Oversee lab budgets and ensure operations are within defined lab cost and expense controls

LEADERSHIP
Develop lab leadership to build a cohesive, well trained team of lab associates
Motivate and strengthen the team in achieving company goals
Represent SVS Vision and Shopko Optical in discussions with external partners
Maintain knowledge of optical industry trends and competitive landscape
Effectively present information to and field questions from Executive Leadership team, Board of Directors, and stakeholder groups

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA degree or equivalent business experience required; MBA preferred
Combination of education and/or equivalent work experience in a related field
8+ years of progressively responsible experience in production and manufacturing
8+ years of management experience preferably in an optical lab environment
Demonstrated understanding of optical lab processes and procedures
Demonstrated experience in guiding an organization through process improvement and strategy development
Able to work cross-functionally with excellent attention to detail and follow through
Able to manage many initiatives at once
Solid interpersonal relationship skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a large corporate environment
Able to analyze and solve issues of varied scope: able to act decisively to implement solutions
Solid organizational and planning skills
Able to continuously monitor progress in relation to goal attainment
Able to analyze financial data, recognize opportunities for improvement and formulate plans to address
Able to provide clear vision of business objectives and goals
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
