This position is designated as Hybrid - Fully Flexible and expected to work from our World Headquarters office once per month to several times a week. The specific days in the office are determined by managers based on business requirements. Rotary is under the jurisdiction of Illinois employment laws; we require all employees to live within reasonable daily commuting distance to Evanston.

Overview
As the Director of Architecture at Rotary International, you will play a pivotal role in steering the organization's technological initiatives. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will oversee a team of enterprise architects and solution architects. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic team of architects and engineers to shape the organization's digital future. As the Director of Architecture at Rotary International, you will be at the forefront of shaping and executing the organization's technological strategies. This role demands a visionary leader with a proven background in enterprise and solution architecture, coupled with a deep understanding of modern IT practices. You Will Have
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical/quantitative field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise and solution architecture, with a proven track record of leadership
  • Proficient in rapidly defining target architectures aligned with modern architecture and design best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of global data protection requirements, compliance regulations (such as GDPR), and certifications (e.g., SOC-2, ISO 27001)
  • Expertise in cloud solutions, data modeling, database concepts, and architectural design
  • Strong background in implementing architecture standards and best practices
  • Experience building a highly performing team and strong collaborative relationships among stakeholders
  • Experience in negotiation and communication at a leadership level
  • Strong organizational skills, project and time management skills, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


You Are Good At

Strategic Leadership
  • Lead programs to develop, maintain, and govern enterprise architecture across the organization.
  • Guide organization-wide adoption and increase enterprise architecture maturity.

Team Leadership
  • Lead a team of solution architects, providing leadership and cross-functional digital product standards throughout product delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with domain experts to support strategic initiatives such as cloud adoption and participant experience.

Strategic Leadership
  • Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the business strategy.
  • Drive the adoption of building and maintaining modern Cloud Enterprise solutions.

Management and Coordination
  • Manage, coordinate, and drive architecture services teams to achieve excellence in providing the organization with digital solutions.

Process Improvement
  • Support and continually improve processes for managing modern architecture standards across the organization.

You Will Be Responsible For

Enterprise Architecture
  • Lead enterprise architecture framework and methodology for assessing the health of the external and internal products
  • Assess the business impact/return on investment of the components of the enterprise architecture and understand business drivers and capabilities
  • Create and implement a multi-year plan that supports the organization's business vision via technology enablers
  • Lead the organization-wide adoption and help to increase the enterprise architecture maturity

Solution Architecture
  • Provide leadership related to cross-functional digital product standards as applied throughout the product delivery teams
  • Collaborate with various domain experts to support the company's strategic initiatives such as cloud adoption and continuous improvement of participant experience
  • Gain support for programs to develop, maintain, and govern the enterprise architecture across the organization
  • Assisting with the development of the annual departmental budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary Range

$198,000 - $220,000
