Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Civil Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic team in either the vibrant Greater Toronto Area (GTA) or Waterloo! If you have at least 5 years of experience and hold a P. ENG certification from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), we want to hear from you!
In this thrilling role, you will dive into the design of water mains, sewers, roads, and private sites, with a special focus on exciting public and private projects involving earthworks, site remediation, solid waste management, and renewable energy initiatives. - Work closely with Business Lead, Managers, and Project Directors with a focus on civil design, linear infrastructure, earthworks, landfills, solid waste, and site remediation design.
- Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design
- Design and develop water mains, sewers, roads, and private sites.
- Manage civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects.
- Focus on earthworks, site remediation, solid waste, and renewable energy projects.
- Work in an integrated 3D environment for civil design.
- Participate in piping and water/wastewater projects.
- Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and guidelines through all stages of project delivery.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing, and able to work on a wide variety of civil design.
- Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to civil design.
- Ensure the client's requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project.
- Ensure quality control processes are being followed.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Represent GHD at Client meetings when required.
What you will bring to the team:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering.
- P. ENG certification with PEO (mandatory).
- Experience in designing water mains, sewers, roads, and private sites.
- Proficiency in earthworks and civil design.
- Experience working in an integrated 3D environment.
- Knowledge of piping and water/wastewater projects.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
