Your Opportunity at ARC'TERYX:
As a Materials Developer 2 - Trims, you are a technical developer focused on long term and seasonal developments ranging across a variety of high-performance trims for all activities. You are grounded in circular trims and maintain operational excellence by developing best-in-class trims that significantly impact the success of our product. You will learn alongside our industry partners through hands on experience. Your focus will be a high-performance toolbox and on-time delivery in the materials space, driving our product and our brand forward in alignment with our supply chain goals.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Raw Materials Development (RMD) Team commercializes seasonal performance textiles and trims that exceeds the industry standard. We create toolbox material palettes for each product category, made of innovative materials that can ultimately become brand icons for many years to come. $80,000 - $100,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.

If you were in the Materials Developer 2 - Trims, role now, here are some of the things you'd be doing:
- Developing and validating high performance trim materials and technologies for our long-range circular roadmap; meeting the highest quality standards within alignment to our Supply Chain strategy
- Utilizing your resourcefulness when faced with supply chain limitations and communicating effectively to leadership
- Providing technical expertise to Design and Product teams on trim manufacturing and performance, as well as supplier capabilities
- Communicating clearly and concisely with internal and external partners to shepherd decision making and deliver on time
- Ensuring new developments follow our circular material guidelines to meet sustainability targets
- Maintaining organization and accuracy within digital work spaces
- Building and strengthening mill partnerships within our supply chain and leveraging capabilities to meet material specifications
- Communicating material development status and updates to leadership
- Initiating and informing seasonal wear testing, in partnership with our wear test team within RM pre-season calendar timelines
- Operating and training on in-house lab equipment to record and inform performance attributes and test results

Are you our next Materials Developer 2 - Trims?
- You have 3+ years of industry experience related to materials and trims
- You have a degree or diploma in Materials Science, Textile Technology, Product or Textile Design, or the equivalent industry experience
- You have a working knowledge of the design and development process from inception through to final adoption
- You have an extensive knowledge of materials and construction
- You have a thorough understanding of trims and textile manufacturing, including dying, finishing, printing, molding, etc.
- You have previous materials laboratory testing experience
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration with multiple teams
- You partner effectively with diverse networks of internal and external cultures and teams
- You have strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- You are able to travel internationally, as required
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PLM systems
- You have the physical ability to handle small boxes and rolls of fabric, etc.
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
- You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
