The Belton School District is seeking a dynamic, self-starter to support the Academies of Belton for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidate must be personable and build relationships with all stakeholders. A solid understanding of Academies, Ford Next Generation Learning, and Real World Learning is a must. This position requires flexibility and may require weekend/evening hours. The Academy Specialist reports to the Director of Academies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as a school based liaison among staff, leadership, and the district for supporting and sustaining the Academies of Belton and real world learning initiatives through Ford Next Generation Learning and Kaufman Real World Learning
  • Attends academy team meetings providing support and guidance for academy initiatives
  • Serves as the point person for the career academy student ambassador programs
  • Coordinates professional development and training for transformative instructional practices
  • Works with instructional coach and academy teams to develop standards and pacing aligned client connected projects and experiential learning activities
  • Works closely with the Director of Academies and the Academies Project Coordinator on the development, implementation, and evaluation of real world learning opportunities that result in student attainment of Market Value Assets
  • As directed by the principal, engages in school leadership initiatives or tasks assigned such as serving on the master scheduling team or school leadership team, to align career academy initiatives and protocols with school operations
  • Works with counselors, team leads, and school administration to coordinate recruitment and registration of students and monitor scheduling for proper placement in career academies
  • Attends leadership meetings to provide support for implementation and sustainability of career academies increasing impact key student metrics (e.g. student attendance, reduced student discipline, improved student achievement, and increased graduation rates)
  • Facilitates the organization and implementation of academy open houses and school tours
  • Coordinates with district leadership to support problem-based and integrated curricula with Career Academies to drive student achievement
  • Coordinates academy related experiential learning opportunities, including field trips, client connected projects, student internships, and teacher externships
  • Regularly collects, analyzes, and communicates academy data (e.g. academy enrollment, experiential learning participation, industry certifications, academy related dual credit/dual enrollment, attendance, and graduation rate) to key stakeholders and district leadership
  • Supports the completion of action plans and calendars of events as established by academy teams
  • Participates in academy advisory boards
  • Collaborates with school administration and advisory boards to review academy programs of study and recommend program modifications
  • Attends scheduled district industry council meetings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ? Demonstrate 5 years of relevant work/classroom experience including but not limited to:
  • o student postsecondary planning, career-related student supports, or career preparation
  • o community/business engagement
  • o workforce development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Academies
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid Missouri teaching license
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience

?Terms of employment: 12 month position. Salary schedule: $77,493/year - $102,649/year Salary range based on education and experience. Valid teaching license, Leadership experience preferred.
