Job Overview
Reporting to the Regional Vice-President, as the Director, Corporate Health and Safety you develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive health and safety strategy that is aligned with Qualico's overall company objectives. You lead a team of health and safety professionals, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety across the organization.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization, promoting awareness, engagement and understanding of applicable workplace health and safety legislation and regulations, and ensuring compliance across all business units.
- Ensuring a consistent application of the safety principles by standardizing the safety manuals and programs across Qualico's Regions and vertical business units.
- Focusing on the continuous improvement of health and safety policies, procedures and best practices.
- Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of health and safety professionals. Promoting a collaborative approach to health and safety across all regions.
- Staying current on health and safety legislation or regulations, monitoring any changes, and adjusting safety program/policies when necessary to ensure compliance.
- Monitoring and identifying opportunities to reduce, where possible, Workplace Compensation Board (WCB)-associated costs.
- Overseeing the development and delivery of health and safety training programs for both employees and contractors.
- Conducting workplace assessments, investigations, and reviews to determine compliance with safety programs, policy requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Providing regular reports to Senior Management on health and safety performance, trends, and initiatives.
- Implementing and monitoring an effective Safety Management System.
- Managing the day-to-day regional safety program in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Essential Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety, or equivalent.
- National Construction Safety Officer Certificate (NCSO).
- Minimum of 10 years of workplace safety management experience.
- Minimum 6 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading health and safety teams across multiple jurisdictions is an asset.
- Previous experience working in the residential construction industry is preferred.
