The AI/ML Engineer Senior is responsible for leading the development and deployment of advanced machine learning (ML) models and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The incumbent will closely work with cross-functional teams, including developers, to design, implement, and integrate advanced machine learning models into business processes, focusing on data preprocessing, algorithm optimization, and ensuring model efficiency and accuracy. This position will proactively work with the Data Engineer Team, IT staff, and agency employees.

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work conducted at our TRS office in Austin, TX approximately two times a week or as required for business needs.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

AI/ML Engineering
Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex ML models.
Manage complex data preprocessing pipelines, ensuring high quality and reliable input data for model training.
Conduct advanced data analysis to optimize ML algorithms for performance, scalability, and accuracy in real-time applications.
Design and implement complex algorithms, ensuring they are optimized for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Collaborate with stakeholders on best practices and techniques.
Ensure scalability and security of models.
Performs related work as assigned.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING:

Required Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field.
High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time experience in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science, or related experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Required Experience
Five (5) years of full-time directly related, progressively responsible experience in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science, or related experience.
Experience may be concurrent.
A master's degree or doctoral degree in a closely related field may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Required Registration, Certification, or Licensure
None

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in deploying ML models to production.
Experience in leading projects.
Experience working on NLP projects and frameworks.
Experience working on cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:
In-depth knowledge of advanced machine learning and AI techniques.
Hands-on experience in deploying predictive models to production.
Expertise in statistical analysis.
Hands-on experience in AI/ML big projects.
Extensive experience in Agile development.
Expertise in developing, deploying, and optimizing LLMs and RAG systems.
Experience in working with vector databases and advanced models like LLaMa and Mistral.
Proficiency in DevOps tools for CI/CD and ML deployment.
Expertise in statistical modeling and inference.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
Expertise in data wrangling, ETL processes, and working with large datasets.
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
Advanced usage of ML frameworks and tools.
Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow).
Proficient knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and basic data warehousing concepts.
Proficient in data and analytics technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
Proficient knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
Proficient in data encryption and secure transmission practices (SSL, SSH, SFTP, Certificates)
Strong understanding of web services concepts (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON).

Skills in:
Model interpretability techniques.
Skill in using advanced visualization tools like D3.js or Plotly.
Expertise in data visualization and storytelling with data.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to:
Stay updated with AI advancements.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments.
Ability to write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
