Level 3 Registered Nurse - Endoscopy
Job Specialty:

Shift:
4 shifts per week, 9 hours per shift
Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours per week plus call
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse
License:
Registered Nurse Licensure
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have:
- New York State RN Licensure
Job Description:
- This role requires a commitment to working 6-8 days of call per month, including one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday. The response time for call duties is one hour.
- Shifts start between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM, depending on assigned roles, which include pre-op, circulator/tech, and post-op responsibilities.
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families through nursing knowledge, technical skills, and communication.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient and family needs, utilizing active listening and social perceptiveness.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, setting goals and monitoring patient progress. Adjust plans based on patient responses and changes in condition.
- Advocate for patient's health, safety, and rights, building mutual trust and cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families for self-care post-hospitalization, emphasizing lifestyle changes for health and healing.
- Document education provided and assess understanding and retention of self-care information.
- Continuously evaluate nursing practice quality and effectiveness, using quality improvement feedback for practice enhancement.
- Establish meaningful connections with patients and families, creating a healing environment through attentive care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in administering interventions, including medications.
- Be prepared for potential occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, involving contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
