Description
This is an important administrative position involving fulfilling the duties of the Director of Long Term Care in his/her absence and performing other essential support functions to the Director at other times. The work involves handling assigned operational requirements of the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and managing and carrying out special projects. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel. The work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Long Term Care and within the guidelines and standards established by applicable State and Federal laws. A Deputy Director of Long Term Care does related work as required.

Description

Examples of Duties
- Fulfills the duties of the Director in the Director's absences, including serving as administrator of record;
- Handles routine, day-to-day operations requirements of the facility such as: reports of personnel change, requests to fill, purchase order authorizations, grievance/complaint responses, accident/incident review, and skilled nursing regulatory report requirements;
- Assists the Director in projects regarding various facility issues and operations;
- As directed, conducts investigations in resident, personnel and regulatory matters, makes factual findings, determines possible options/remedies and analyzes same, and makes recommendations to the Director;
- Develops and coordinates regulatory compliance activities of facility as assigned;
- Follows up on assignments made by the Director of one or more departmental services units to keep plans and projects on track, and reports to the Director regarding same;
- Attends various resident/patient and family meetings, facility departmental and committee meetings and carries out activities related to work plans established by committee process with approval by the Director;
- Assists the Director in program development activities;
- Assists with budget analysis and preparation;
- Conducts facility inspections and/or audits as instructed by the Director;
- Prepares written reports as required; and
- Performs other related duties.
Typical Qualifications
RESIDENCY: Candidates must have been legal residents of the following jurisdiction(s) for at least four months immediately preceding the date of the written test:
- Livingston County, or
- One of the following Counties: Allegany, Genesee, Monroe, Ontario, Steuben or Wyoming
Applicants must meet all requirements for the following qualification option in order to be approved for examination and/or appointment:

- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university.
