Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, ensuring efficiency and high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership to optimize patient flow, scheduling, and departmental productivity.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Coordinate performance improvement (PI) and quality assurance (QA) measures to ensure continuous improvement. - Serve as a liaison between the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and hospital administration to align departmental goals with broader organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program required.
Master's degree preferred. - Three to Four years' experience required
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. - Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN) or Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is desirable.
