About the Director of EMR Technology and Care DeliveryUpperline Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, EMR Technology & Care Delivery to join our growing team. The Director, EMR (Athena) is responsible for overseeing the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of the Athena electronic medical records (EMR) system within the organization. This role will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure the effective adoption and use of Athena, driving improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive EMR strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the EMR team, ensuring their effective performance and development.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and address EMR-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Athena EMR system, including project planning, configuration, data migration, and user training.
  • Lead efforts to optimize the Athena system to meet the organization's specific needs and workflows.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the EMR system, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for clinical and administrative staff on the use of Athena.
  • Work around vendor management, business leaders, and key EMR vendors to create a program of application performance accountability including UI responsiveness, overall quality of releases, adherence to regulatory and legal change, and general business continuity. This may require knowledge of performance tooling and a dedicated focus on clinician and patient user experience.
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to users, addressing their questions and resolving issues promptly.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement related to EMR utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to EMR systems, including HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and other relevant standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in EMR implementation and management.
  • Oversee the management and integrity of EMR data, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility.
  • Leverage EMR data to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement initiatives, and research efforts.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, information technology, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare IT, with a focus on EMR implementation and management.
  • Proven experience with Athena EMR systems, including deep knowledge of its features, functionality, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and standards related to EMR systems.

Additional Skills:
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards and healthcare information exchange.
  • Experience with cloud-based EMR solutions.
