JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for driving organizational change within the accounting function. Collaborate with Accounting Operations and Controllership teams to enhance efficiency and align processes with business goals. Evaluate current practices, lead automation efforts, and ensure SOX compliance and internal controls are implemented. Promote continuous improvement through guidance and training during the transformation process. The ideal candidate excels in project management, automation, and change management to ensure the success of transformation initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and implement strategic plans for accounting transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze existing accounting procedures and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
  • Oversee the execution of transformation projects, including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures to ensure consistent and compliant accounting practices across the organization.
  • Work closely with Data Warehouse, IT, and Accounting operational teams to align transformation efforts with business goals and drive integration.
  • Lead initiatives to automate manual accounting tasks, leveraging technology to enhance process efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to established accounting processes, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, while supporting compliance and risk management.
  • Continuously assess the impact of implemented changes, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize outcomes and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounting teams throughout the transformation process, promoting professional development and a culture of ongoing improvement.
  • Design and implement training programs for accounting staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to new processes and technologies effectively.
  • Perform additional job related duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity overseeing transformation initiatives.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
  • Proven track record in successfully leading and managing complex accounting transformation projects.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, identify trends, and formulate actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building consensus and driving collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Excellent project management, automation, and change management skills to ensure the success of transformation initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience in system implementation and customization preferred.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effectively operate in a fast-paced, complex, highly matrixed organization. Detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills. Strong program/project management skills. Management experience, including responsibility for assessing resource needs and providing business-based recommendations on building teams and hiring; goal setting and performance management; training and development; achieving objectives through others; addressing poor performance and bench planning.
  • Must be highly analytical, solutions oriented and see the "big picture".
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
