  • POSITION STANDARDS
    • Unrestricted NH and VT Physician's Assistant License
    • Current DEA license Required
    • Current BCLS certifications required within 30 days of hire.
    • Demonstrated Competence in providing supervised orthopedic sports medicine care as delineated on Clinical Privilege list.
    • 2 years exp required in Ortho or Sports Medicine
    • Must complete requirements for Ultrasound privileges within 18months of hire

  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • Supports assigned physician in provision of comprehensive, general orthopedic and sports medicine care
    • Performance Expectation
      • Evaluate all assigned orthopedic patients presenting to the APD Orthopedic Clinic.
      • Obtain an appropriate history and physical exam.
      • Order and provide preliminary interpretation of diagnostic laboratory and imaging studies.
      • Within scope of service, provide appropriate treatment to all assigned patients.
      • Obtain consultation as clinically indicated and appropriate.
      • When indicated, transfer care of complex patients to MD practitioner.
      • Document the history, physical exam, and laboratory and imaging studies as well as treatment in the medical record.
      • Obtain appropriate informed consent for all procedures as described in APD Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies.
      • Provide consulting practitioners and supervising physicians with complete and accurate medical records. Communicate in a timely and collegial manner.
      • Review previously ordered laboratory and imaging studies and determine appropriate preliminary course of treatment for patient based on results. Communicate results and proposed plan to supervising physician and patients in a timely manner.
      • When requested, assist with clinical procedures.
      • Participate fully in physician supervisory chart reviews.
      • Treat all patients and staff with respect.
      • Participate in staff education and clinical Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities.
      • Attend clinic staff meetings when requested to do so by the supervising orthopedic MD or Practice Manager.
      • Abide by CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
      • Abide by the APD Medical Staff bylaws, Rules and Regulations and policies.
      • Abide by all APD policies
