Ensign Peak Advisors is an affiliated organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ensign Peak manages Church investment reserves and supports its global mission.

Within Ensign Peak, the Portfolio Strategy team works with the Chief Investment Officer to allocate the investment portfolio across different asset classes and geographies. The team also monitors economic conditions and market risks to communicate on these topics with Church leaders and affiliates. The Portfolio Strategy team positions the overall portfolio by modeling the building blocks of asset class returns, assessing the impact of current events on financial markets, identifying important long-term macro and market trends, screening for investment opportunity from market dislocation, and undertaking actionable research and analysis in many other areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of analysts responsible for Portfolio Strategy research, presentations, and investing tools.
  • Act as team liaison to technology teams responsible for management reporting, tools, and data quality.
  • Lead thematic research projects.
  • Manage regular economic outlook meetings, presentations and publications.
  • Present markets and economics outlook to Ensign Peak affiliates and at internal Ensign Peak meetings.
  • Be responsible for investment committee presentation support.
  • Organize Portfolio Strategy team meetings, trainings, and other team events.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in applied investment analysis, management, accounting, or another related field.
  • Master's Degree with emphasis in finance, investments or economics.
  • Confidence in ability to develop and manage a high-performing team.
  • Effective project management skills for managing complex team workflow.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful and actionable insight.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent writer and presenter to audiences of varying levels of financial expertise.
  • Mature sense of visual style and fluency with PowerPoint or other slide design software.
  • Keen attention to detail and reliability in overseeing recurring tasks.
  • Experience in navigating, organizing, extracting, and presenting information from large datasets.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in Excel, PowerPoint, Python, SQL, and Power BI or similar.
  • CFA designation or willing to achieve CFA designation upon being hired.
  • Passion for investing, capital markets, and economics.

Other Information:
  • Job Type: Full-time; seeking candidates with 7+ years of work experience; candidates must currently hold permanent U.S. work authorization.
  • Timing: Seeking candidates who can start full-time as soon as possible; candidates from academia may finish the current semester before hire.
  • Location: On-site at our Salt Lake offices and from home in a hybrid structure.
  • Church Membership: Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have a current temple recommend.
  • Compensation: Salary and benefits including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and life insurance. Salary range is available upon personal request.
