LA 2028 is a non-profit public benefit corporation. The specific purpose of the organization is to improve and enhance the quality of life of the residents of the City of Los Angeles, California, and the surrounding metropolitan area through the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Its core activities include: (1) planning, organization, financing, promotion, sponsorship, hosting and staging the Games, (2) raising funds to be used to plan, organize, finance, promote, sponsor, host or stage the Games, and (3) creating and implementing sustainability and legacy programs for the Games.

United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP) is a commercial joint venture between the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 (LA 2028) and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). The USOPP is the sole entity charged with marketing and selling combined commercial assets, including; rights to the 2022, 2024, 2026 and 2028 U.S Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Job Description:

The Senior Associate of Partnership Development will provide critical support across the USOPP/LA28 sales process, with an emphasis on creative storytelling and idea visualization, strategic corporate and sports industry research, and cross functional materials/collateral management.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Partnerships, this person will provide day-to-day support to the entirety of the USOPP commercial environment inclusive of internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication and ability to work in a cross functional team environment will be critical to success in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Cross-functional creative and strategic writing to translate business priorities into highly engaging content for internal and external executives (i.e. PPT, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Direct and manage the development of strategic, customized presentations and partnership proposals for prospective partners
  • Execute corporate research on individual companies and industry categories to stimulate lead/prospect development
  • Develop and present partnership proposals that reflect a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring alignment with LA28 and USOPP's organizational values.
  • Conduct research to identify potential partners from underrepresented industries, communities, or organizations, contributing to a more inclusive portfolio of partnerships.
  • Lead and support targeted outreach efforts across individual brands and industry categories
  • Develop strong peer-level relationships and work in a team environment and contribute to the general success of USOPP across all facets, including positively representing USOPP among all potential and existing clients
  • Support relevant executive commercial needs across internal functional areas and external stakeholder groups (i.e. IOC, Legends, NBC, etc.)
  • Participate in cross-functional weekly meetings and discussions to increase knowledge flow and represent the Sales team
  • Manage department materials access with organization and communication across the sales organization (internal and external stakeholders)
  • Attend industry conferences/events and leverage personal network to develop new business opportunities
  • Support the development and growth of junior team members on the Business Development team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in sports business or related business development environments managing and leading team projects to success
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word, etc.), Apple Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong cross-functional skills, excellent analytical/conceptual abilities, and a capacity for creativity/innovation
  • Strong project management skills with commitment to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Can-do attitude with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining work quality.
  • An energetic self-starter with strong executive presence, results-orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse and highly-matrixed environment
  • A team player who proactively communicates with other business partners and stakeholders within other organizations to drive results

  • The majority of work may be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment, however, the role may require travel to for events, partner meetings, conferences, both domestically and internationally.
  • This role may occasionally require extended periods of time standing and moving on days of large events which may include installation of signage, tables, supplies, and other promotional materials.
  • Work hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods, however, our office is currently working on a hybrid 4-day a week in office model, based in Los Angeles.


The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
