This is a new position offering the opportunity to be a part of developing a leading alternative private residential & commercial mortgage lending program, backed by a well-capitalized financial institution with significant experience investing in mortgages with an established mortgage investment team. This role is located in Vancouver.
Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a commitment to excellence and experience in mortgage loan funding and servicing to join our growing Mortgage Investments team. Reporting to the Senior Director & Head of Mortgage Investments, the Senior Manager, Mortgage Funding and Administration will be responsible for the full-cycle mortgage administration process for both commercial and residential loans including funding new loans, servicing funded loans, collection, enforcement, financial reporting, and general administration of loans.
Core Responsibilities:
This position comes with a base salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.

Reporting to the Senior Director & Head of Mortgage Investments, the Senior Manager, Mortgage Funding and Administration will be responsible for the full-cycle mortgage administration process for both commercial and residential loans including funding new loans, servicing funded loans, collection, enforcement, financial reporting, and general administration of loans.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure all mortgage loans adhere to internal funding and servicing standards, processes, and procedures.
- Liaise with other team members, external mortgage brokers, borrowers, solicitors, and other consultants as needed.
- Oversee the legal and administrative loan funding process including confirming accurate and complete loan documentation, pre-funding conditions are met, and appropriate approvals are in place.
- Input and maintain loan details in mortgage servicing software, including security & borrower details, payment terms, holdbacks, undertakings, and other information.
- Prepare mortgage postings, cheque requisitions, PAD, deposit slips for various loan transactions.
- Calculate and execute on various closing deadlines including payment processing, loan payouts, escrow disbursements, etc.
- Act as the primary contact for solicitor and insurance consultants both to instruct and perfect loan security interest, addressing issues that arise, and escalating as needed.
- Maintain a digital library of records by using standard naming, scanning, and uploading conventions.
- Ongoing monitoring of real estate taxes, insurance, and payment obligations, to identify any delinquencies, NSF payments, outstanding fees, or arrears, and follow up with Borrowers.
- Coordinate with borrowers, solicitors, accountants, or mortgage brokers to provide loan confirmations, loan statements, payout statements, and discharge documentation in a timely manner.
- Process investor remittances and provide reporting.
- Understand new policies, processes, or legislation (BCFSA, Fintrac, etc.) regarding mortgage loan regulations in B.C.
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in mortgage loan funding and administration in B.C. is required.
- Undergraduate bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- A passion for mortgage lending and working on diverse deal types.
- Deep knowledge of loan documentation and the mortgage lending and administration process.
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory regime governing mortgage lending and administration in B.C.
- Proven track record of establishing and following standard operating procedures and processes.

- Experience in credit risk management is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Advanced Excel skills considered an asset.
- Ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
