Position Summary

A full-time Senior Network Architect to assist client in managing network, maintaining telecommunications problems, establishing and implementing policies, procedures and standards, and maintaining and troubleshooting the network for customer.

Responsible for obtaining materials, components, and equipment for booked sales orders. Determines material requirements from production schedules, plans, and monitors the movement of materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. May also design network and computer security measures.
May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
Project specific:

o Responsible for Installation, configuration, and support of an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system

o maintains network hardware and software

o monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability

o may supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures

o and will provide leadership/mentorship to junior & mid-level network engineers.
Oversees network control center
Provides support to projects that involve networks
Performs a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network
Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network
Plans new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance
Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems; and provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. The overarching INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the Agency network add to the complexity of these positions.

General Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience in Network Engineering/related field

Specialized Qualification: Active Security Clearance required

Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
May substitute with a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience
CCNA, Sec+, Net+ desired
Plan and schedule materials required to support production build and on-time delivery goals
Create and manage work orders until production successfully completes.
Conduct exhaustive analysis on materials shortage and drive appropriate actions to ensure sufficient inventory for production builds
Evaluate material status, identify and resolve constraints, and routinely provide materials readiness status to customers and the program management team
Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Other duties as assigned
