Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for our Concord Administration Office. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week. SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role supports the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department at Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal).Key areas of responsibility include policy implementation, , DE&I initiatives, employee relations, workers compensation benefits, language assessment, safety and health programs. As a vital member of the PPNorCal HR team, this position contributes to creating an efficient and compliant HR environment that aligns with organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

HR GENERALIST
  • Ensure compliance with and consistent application of HR policies and practices.
  • Streamline and manage daily HR operations, including responding to HR inbox inquiries, employee communications, and organization-wide announcements.
  • Process Change of Status (COS) forms for the HR department
  • Services as back up for exit interviews for all voluntary separations
  • Collaborate with the Director of Employee and Labor Relations, management and supervisors to address personnel needs and align job specifications as it relates to the SEIU job classifications
  • Partner with the VP of Human Resources, as well as external vendors, to coordinate the annual surveys and labor law posters for all PPNorCal locations Partners with HR Generalist to co-develop annual content for organizational sessions
  • Assist with annual EEO-1 reporting and data-collection
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance within ADP systems and accreditation standards, including preparation for mid-cycle survey analysis
  • Serves as back up for 60-Day employee check-ins
  • Collaborates with HR Generalist for all employee recognition programs and requests including reconciliation monthly

WORKERS' COMPENSATION, SAFETY AND IIPP
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Benefits Administrator develops, updates and administers the workers' compensation, safety, illness and injury prevention programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Investigates accidents and prepares necessary reports and paperwork for insurance carrier and governmental monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • Serves as the liaison with a select few insurance carriers and any employee
  • Prepares necessary workers' compensation paperwork to comply with governmental regulations and ensure appropriate integration of leaves.
  • Serves as the HR representative on committees and tasks forces responsible for the development and administration of safety and emergency preparedness related issues and concerns.
  • Ensures safety issues identified by the committee and staff are timely and appropriately corrected.
  • Prepares OSHA Log and annual summary of injuries.
  • Role-models and provides Leadership toward the implementation of PPNorCal's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan.

GENERALIST AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
  • Human Resources Generalist provides support in conducting investigations of any/all complaints including harassment, discrimination or others forms of unlawful behavior, including all SEIU investigations. organization at personnel related hearings and investigations if senior human resources personnel is not available.
  • Support the Sr. Benefits Administrator in administering benefits programs to include health and disability insurances, leaves of absence. Maintains records of benefits plans participation and employee statistics for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Manages and maintains HRIS to ensure accuracy and integrity of the system as well as its full integration and operation with payroll. Develops written documentation of all operational policies and procedures. Leads ongoing development and refinement of HRIS/payroll system. Serves as the "go to person" in the development and processing of HRIS reports.
  • Partner with HR peers on new hire orientation to foster positive attitude toward PPNorCal
  • Conducts exit interviews with terminating employees and prepares report and analysis for senior management staff
  • Support in maintaining updates of PERSONNEL Guidelines for the human resources Intranet
  • Assists in the development of systems and procedures to improve upon the overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the human resources and administrative support functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent in human resources management or business-related field preferred; five years progressively responsible human resources management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, training outlines, needs assessments, and operational manuals and policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define and articulate problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • PHR/SPHR certification or within one year of hire.
  • Must have reliable automobile transportation and a valid California Driver's License and insurance.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS

Pay Range: Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) supports California's new law (SB 1162) enhancing pay transparency. This new law requires employers with 15 or more employees to include a pay range in job postings. The pay range reflects the compensation that a new employee can expect to receive if offered employment. Employees with more experience, education, and other qualifying factors may be compensated at a higher rate of pay. The pay range for this position is: $84,400 - $101,300 annualized salary.
