UHT Cream portfolio R&D Sr. Scientist
Flora brand US is split in 4 product categories: Spread and butters, UHT creams and creamers, fresh dairy plant substitute and plant-based cheese.
We are searching a senior Scientist who can lead the product design for UHT process and creams type food, based in Kansas.
As this is a growing team, we will add 1 or 2 Jr scientist to that team during 2025.
Our R&D team will be equipped with a state-of-the-art pilot facility in order to support with all modern tools the required R&D actions to develop from scratch from lab via pilot to industrial launch.

Key objective of the role:
- Leading the cream R&D product portfolio for all UHT cream related projects, whipping cream, multipurpose, coffee creamers for all channels (ie Retail, FS, private label, industrial)
- Translating consumer insights to designing together with the international R&D support and local Marketing new product extension and new product platforms
- Upscaling product idea from lab scale over pilot to Industrial Launch scale
- Proactively translating and proposing business needs to build the funnels
- Continuously seeks for new opportunities to improve quality and cost and translating for upscale feasibly, in teamwork with the local and international R&D business partner in Wageningen Netherlands.
- Build together with the compliance team all necessary internal and external regulatory requirement of Specifications LOI Nutritional's
- Optimizing and building with marketing the new US product portfolio in to the future
Requirements:
- Record proven skills for development from lab to market launch
- Master of science degree in Food science
- Unconventional ability to deliver tight timelines with passion
- Used to work in a local and international multifunctional project team environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to simplify the complex.
- Strong communication skills.
- Min 10 years hands on technology experience in dairy or plant passed UHT, creams, emulsion, and similar liquid process.
- Successful R&D project leader experience for larger multimillion upscale projects.
