Teletronic Division of DCX-CHOL Enterprises Inc. is actively seeking a Project Engineers with the following qualifications.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The project engineer works closely with contracts, management, design and the project engineering team to develop new cabling harnesses, electromechanical assembly/equipment and their operational processes. The individual is responsible for researching and managing assigned project's development and build schedule from start to finish, produce first build/piece manufacturing plans, provide engineering support as well as be the internal SME (Subject Matter Expert) to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements and organization objectives.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist and be involved in the preliminary bid process to adequately scope project
Provide inputs in developing basis of estimates (BOE) to establish scope, hours and scheduling
Lead and develop new (non-repeat) project
Research material, drawing, tooling and engineering requirements for new project
Develop in-depth first article/piece traveler and bill of materials
Lead and collaborate with manufacturing specialist on first article/piece build to ensure development and documentation is accurate and precise.
Work with internal DCX-CHOL departments to supply deliverable dates or times for each key project milestone
Work with DCX-CHOL purchasing team and necessary vendors to ensure that all items have been procured correctly and delivered within an acceptable timeframe.
Develop and build project plans as necessary to meet order customer delivery dates
Ensure that each project task is progressing and follow-up daily to ensure momentum is maintained
Provide weekly status reports on activities and progress
Be able to communicate to all levels of the organization through written or verbal format when it comes to transcribing and developing data, as well as showing results in various types of reports
Work and develop project plans with department manager
Coordinate and collaborate with DCX CHOL manufacturing/process engineer on new product release into manufacturing
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Aerospace Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
The individual possesses 3 - 5 years of engineering experience with project, equipment and assembly development in a military, aerospace or medical business environment
Experienced in the manufacturing of cable, electromechanical assembly and/or test systems is highly preferred
Experience with evaluating, implementing new development processes and technologies for military applications in an AS9100/ISO9001 environment is highly desirable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong computer skills using Solidworks: Computer Aided Design (CAD), AutoCAD, Visio and business applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Image Manipulation Software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project & Teams, Asana and Outlook
Ability to direct or create CAD models of a fidelity that is appropriate for the task
Be both electrically and mechanically inclined; have a technical understanding and ability to read engineering and electromechanical drawings with engineering drafting standards and conventions
Familiar with military specifications and standards for use in military and specialized product development
Detail oriented with a biased curiosity that results in action and results
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders
Work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily activities, collaborate to make technical decisions within the scope of the instructions, and produce consistent, accurate timely work
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Any on-the job training that has been received in previous positions should be taken into account
Possesses an outlook of continuous improvement to minimize production errors
