The College of Engineering has an exciting opening for a Director for Individual Giving. This is a full-time permanent, position.
In collaboration with the Senior Director, the Director for Individual Giving will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Individual Giving team's fundraising staff, including to help shape the team's strategy. The Director is a key collaborator in designing and implementing individual major gift and annual philanthropy programs to sustain and grow the number of donors to the College of Engineering and expand major donor prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

As a leader within the Individual Giving team, the Director is responsible for supporting these values in their work with the Individual Giving team, stakeholders within the College, and across University Advancement.
What You Will Do:
Frontline Fundraising (40%)
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects, alumni and volunteers by developing or facilitating relationships with those who have the capacity to make gifts of impact to the University.
Build and sustain long-term partnerships and trust while aligning donor passion and College goals.
Manage a portfolio of prospects with an emphasis on gifts of $100,000+.
Lead reoccurring meetings with academic leadership. Prepare strategic agendas that move fundraising initiatives forward. Manage the participation of academic leaders, administrators, volunteers and staff in fundraising activities.
Identify and cultivate gift prospects and planned gifts from research, prospect tracking tools, donor base, faculty networks and fundraising colleagues.
Prepare, review and edit all materials needed to secure and steward significant gifts.
In alignment with the University of Washington's accountability metrics for major gifts, strive to meet the annual performance goals as assigned by the Senior Director of Individual Giving.
Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping and donor acknowledgement in the University's prospect management tracking systems.
Leadership and Management (30%)
Supervise four fundraising professionals. Establish performance goals and evaluate their performance.
Coordinate with advancement and academic leadership to meet strategic fundraising goals.
Articulate and advocate for the College's mission and funding priorities.
Cultivate, nurture and sustain a culture of individual giving within the College.
Represent the College at donor events and at University, community and professional functions, as needed.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with academic leadership and collaborators across the College of Engineering.
Strategy Development (20%)
In partnership with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, establish goals, objectives and strategies for the College of Engineering's development and advancement activities. Regularly evaluate programs, assess progress toward goals and report results.
Create and implement an annual fundraising plan and provide oversight and direction for the team of fundraisers.
Other Duties (10%)
Participate in developing policies and procedures related to the Advancement program, discovery efforts, marketing materials, and cultivation and stewardship events.
Manage special projects as assigned by the Senior Director or Associate Dean.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor's degree AND six years of experience in development, cultivating and soliciting major gifts and additional areas of advancement, such as annual philanthropy, planned giving or equivalent.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office for generating correspondence, special reports and spreadsheets; familiarity and comfort with industry-standard CRM and/or other broad-based engagement software and tools.
