Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composites materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics and sports equipment.

Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: Quality Engineer I will assist in the development and implementation of quality processes, sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques to address quality concerns associated with the engineering and manufacturing of advanced composite materials.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Provides on-site technical support to new and ongoing manufacturing operations.
  • Assists with formulating quality standards, policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices Continuously reviews the quality program and makes recommendations.
  • Assists in maintaining the accuracy of the ERP.
  • Assists the QA quarantine and MRB process.
  • Research and answer customer inquiries for data, certifications, and compliance with various regulations.
  • This position will require significant customer interaction, interpersonal communication is a must.
  • May train staff in quality applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality System Manager or designee

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in material science, engineering, mechanical engineering (preferred) or
  • A minimum of 2 years equivalent Quality Assurance / Quality Control work experience.
  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Related experience in aerospace and previous experience supporting a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Composites knowledge and experience Are preferred.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts in the analysis of Quality and Manufacturing data.
  • Ability to edit and write technical documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies.
  • Able to work and communicate with multiple teams
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner
  • Follow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)
  • Ability to work within an MS Office
  • Familiar with ERP systems

SALARY RANGE:

$75,000 - $105,000
