Job Description:

Job Summary: The Manager IT Applications is responsible for supervising and coordinating the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of complex computer software applications for JPS Health Network. This role is responsible for the oversight and analysis of user needs and makes recommendations for software applications.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
  • Supervises clerical staff to include making recommendations for disciplining, coaching, and counseling
  • Manages the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of complex computer software applications for assigned divisions or program areas.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the work plan for applications development staff; assign work activities, projects and programs.
  • Review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures. Meets with staff to identify and resolve problem; develop project time lines and identify project tasks and procedures.
  • Analyzes business systems to determine effectiveness. Identify inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommend solutions; recommend application software development.
  • Ensures staff follows service management procedures in managing/communicating assigned tickets, change process, root cause analysis and is meeting key performance indicator goals.
  • Partners with vendor representatives to gain optimal support and deliverables for JPS.
  • Serves as a project manager as needed and provide input to JPS project methodology.
  • Reviews proposed systems software for compliance with applicable quality assurance standards before acquisition or implementation.

  • Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:
    • One of the following qualification groupings is required for this position as indicated below:
      • Bachelor's degree in information technology, clinical field of study, or related field from an accredited college or university.
      • 5 plus years of relevant work experience in Healthcare IT as an Application Analyst or equivalent, with hospital application software, Interface Development & Support experience, including communications protocols, data mapping, and translations. SQL/Report Writing experience, and using Microsoft Office Suite, to include Project, Word, Excel, Visio PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, and Project Center.
      • 2 plus years of experience in a senior, lead, supervisor, or people leader role.

      • OR
      • Associates degree in information technology, clinical field of study, or related field from an accredited college or university.
      • 7 plus years of relevant work experience in Healthcare IT as an Application Analyst or equivalent, with hospital application software, Interface Development & Support experience, including communications protocols, data mapping, and translations.       • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
      • 9 plus years of relevant work experience in Healthcare IT as an Application Analyst or equivalent, with hospital application software, Interface Development & Support experience, including communications protocols, data mapping, and translations. SQL/Report Writing experience, and using Microsoft Office Suite, to include Project, Word, Excel, Visio PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, and Project Center.
      • 2 plus years of experience in a senior, lead, supervisor, or people leader role.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • 2 plus years as a Team Lead, Supervisory or Management Role.
    • 2 plus year of Lawson, Midas, HL7 interfaces, Health Information Systems applications, and Clinical Applications experience.
