HOURS: Full-time including evenings, weekends & holidays per show schedule

COMPENSATION: Starting at $85k, commensurate with experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Kings Theatre, an ATG Entertainment venue, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Manager to join our team. The Production Manager will oversee all technical and logistical aspects of concerts and events at Kings Theatre, a historic 3,000-capacity venue in Brooklyn. This role is responsible for advancing production needs, managing on-site event execution, and ensuring seamless coordination between touring crews and the venue team. The Production Manager plays a key role in upholding the theatre's high standards for technical excellence, safety, and client satisfaction.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with touring productions, event producers, talent buyers, and internal teams to advance all technical and logistical event requirements, ensuring alignment with artist riders and contract terms.
  • Oversee all aspects of event production from load-in to load-out, ensuring timely execution and adherence to safety protocols, budgets, and schedules.
  • Works closely with IATSE Local 4 Crew Chief, stagehands and vendors, managing labor calls, schedules, and on-site crew assignments.
  • Develop and maintain production budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost containment while delivering high-quality events.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between incoming productions and the venue, fostering positive relationships and addressing challenges promptly.
  • Manage post-show production settlements and payments.
  • Work with Director of Programming to create estimates for prospective events.
  • Collaborate with the venue's operations team to address facility needs, ensuring the theatre is performance-ready and maintaining its historic character.
  • Onboard and complete payroll for IATSE Local 4 Stagehands, Theatrical Teamsters Local 817, and IATSE Local 764 Wardrobe unions on a weekly basis.


PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS
  • Kings Theatre is a live concert venue in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. After a meticulous restoration and reopening in 2015, Kings Theatre has again become a hub for live entertainment, hosting events ranging from concerts and comedy to film screenings, fashion shows, and more.
  • The Production Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Security and Facilities departments.


EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Production Manager, promoter representative, or similar role, with expertise in live music and event production.
  • Strong knowledge of technical production, including audio, lighting, rigging, and staging systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and track production expenses effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing calendars, event schedules, and show documentation.
  • Experience preparing production-related financial documents such as invoices, purchase orders, and payroll.
  • Experience working with and managing union crews (IATSE Local 4).
  • Flexible team player who can multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Superior communication and follow-through skills.


COMPETENCIES
  • Understanding of technical riders, stage lighting, pro audio systems, counterweight rigging, and basic video systems.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills with above average knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Proficiency in managing document organization and scheduling tools (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, Outlook Calendar).
  • Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings; proficiency in CAD or Vectorworks is a plus.
  • Must be able to climb stairs regularly, occasionally work on a theatre grid and on catwalks above the ceiling.
  • Ability to work long days, across nights and weekends, per the venue show calendar.
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.; comfortable working in a high-decibel environment.
