Southern Veterinary Partners (SVP) and Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) are adding a

Director of Clinical Operations (Livewell) to be an important member of our growing Medical Operations Team

Job Summary: The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for coaching/mentoring Founding Leads, developing clinical leadership skills, supporting/implementing Livewell Standards of Care, and providing input/expertise on the broader clinical strategy.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Hospital Coaching / Quality Assurance (75%)

  • Coaching Clinical Leads
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to Founding Leads, which could include those that are currently in leadership roles (existing Livewell practices) or transitioning into leadership roles (future Livewell practices)
  • Resolve medical issues as they come up
  • Support Founding Leads with line management issues (HM partnership)
  • Primary line manager for all Founding Leads
  • 1:1s
    • Discuss challenges, review goals, discuss KPIs, provide feedback, leadership development
    • Use real scenarios to guide decision-making and problem-solving
  • Peer mentorship - pair with experienced Founding Leads (buddy system)
  • Group meetings - opportunity for all founding leads to discussing/sharing successes, failures, opportunities. Goal would be to eliminate the "silo" mentality


  • Site Inspections / Visits
  • Assess quality standards and compliance
  • Diagnosis areas of opportunity and improvement
  • Evaluate HM and FDVM partnership


Strategy / Projects (20%)

  • Create a unified, high quality care model across ALL Livewell practices. Most importantly, a clinical strategy that drives growth, client satisfaction and team alignment


  • Develop Clinical Leadership
  • Designing and implementing programs or initiatives to strengthen leadership skills and clinical experience. This might involve training sessions, leadership workshops, 1:1 mentoring
  • Essentially create the Livewell playbook for leadership development
  • Create a structured program that includes:
    • Team Management
    • Financial and Operational aspects of Livewell - DVM perspective
    • Client Communication
    • Culture (leadership influences culture - culture influences behavior)
  • Encourage feedback loops - regular meetings with Livewell team
  • Recognition and Reward
  • Annual FDVM Leadership event


  • Provide insight into supporting the creation of the Standards of Care
  • Collaborate with experts - specialists
  • Establish clear, evidence-based protocols for medical care across all Livewell practices to ensure consistency and quality:
    • Diagnostics
    • Treatment Plans
    • Client Communication
  • Establish parameters to assess success / compliance


Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) licensure - active and in good standing
  • Previous ownership (veterinary hospital) experience (de novo) - preferred
  • Previous leadership role, ideally offsite operational multi-site
  • Ability to be a multisite operator
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing at strategic and operational levels.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Google, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
  • Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position (English).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
