Overview

The East Bay Consortium APP Fellowship Program (EBC-APPF) will start accepting applications on 1/2/25 for eight candidates for our 2025-26 cohort beginning September 2025. We are a consortium between Lifelong Medical Care (Berkeley/Oakland/San Pablo) and La Clinica (Oakland).

Our program is a 12-month intensive training program for new Family Nurse Practitioners, Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants who have recently completed their Master or Doctorate in Nursing, or Physician Assistant program within 18 months from the start of the program. Our program consists of primary care clinics with dedicated preceptors, specialty rotations, weekly didactic training, and curriculum focusing on community health issues through a health equity lens and DEI and anti-oppression framework. We also offer 2 specialty tracks for Lifelong fellows in either maternal health or behavioral health.

Benefits:

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications to become eligible to apply:
  • Completed MSN, DNP, or PA program within 18 months from the start of the program
  • California state RN & NP or PA license by the start of the program
  • Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant certified by an accredited agency by the start of the program
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a safety-net setting
  • Bilingual (especially Spanish) required for some positions
