The SMS Personnel Security (PERSEC) Lead will supervise a dynamic team of security professionals across multiple customer portfolios. The Lead will be responsible for overseeing our PERSEC mission, ensuring compliance with relevant government policies (Executive Order 13526, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD) 3, and customer specific personnel security policy.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Manage the PERSEC process for candidates seeking to obtain a Security Clearance and access to classified programs (includes candidate package submission, investigation/reinvestigation initiation, and continuous reporting).
    • Manage and coordinate the procedures for SMS New Hires (e.g., indoctrinations, New Hire Briefings) and Terminations (e.g., debriefs).
    • Manage and Oversee the consolidation of SMS PSQs in a centralized database and ensure efficient processes are in place to efficiently track any reportable changes that should be updated on the PSQ.
    • Manage and assist in maintaining the PERSEC functions in DISS and SIMs, ensuring compliance with 32 CFR "NISPOM Rule", SEAD 3, and internal BAE security policy.
    • Manage the SMS PERSEC team which will cover all PERSEC requirements of the SMS government customers.
    • Represent PERSEC interests at Senior leadership meetings within Security Ops and Enterprise Assurance and provide relevant metrics.
    • Represent SMS PERSEC interests in the greater CDC community (e.g., NCMS, CSSWG)
    • Provide/maintain monthly SMS PERSEC Metrics.
    • Maintain continuity plans relative to the Centralized Personnel Security Office.
    • Develops Personnel Security Plans to comply with existing directives and future requirements.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required as well as an ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
  • Security experience with solid PERSEC background.
  • Working knowledge of SIMS, DISS, NBIS, EQIP, EAPP.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and other Security Manuals.
  • Decision making and reasoning skills.
