Driven by the mission to develop human potential through music and the arts, RCM Learning Systems is dedicated to creating and innovating across all aspects of music education. This includes comprehensive early childhood programs fueled by an in-house neuroscience and research team, an internationally renowned program of music study and assessment through the RCM Certificate Program, and an array of digital learning products, that support students, educators, and schools globally. Learning Systems' priority focus is to increase revenues from it's suite of products. The current priority is to grow and scale the adoption of the 'Smart Start()' early music education program, grow music exam registrations, and increase sales of RCM publications leveraging our direct ecommerce channel and through strategic dealer partnerships.

What is the Opportunity?

The Marketing Director, Learning Systems, will be a key member of the Learning Systems leadership team, as well as RCM's Marketing and Communications leadership team. This role will work alongside the EVP of Learning Systems, VP of Business Development & Strategy for Learning Systems, and key Business Development, Product & Data teams to create and execute integrated marketing campaigns and programs that will drive product adoption and usage, increased sales revenues and increased awareness of RCM's portfolio of education products and offerings in domestic and international markets.

The successful candidate will have a proven track-record in developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns to meet organizational and business goals. They will also possess a unique blend of project management skills driving multi-initiative programs, product marketing innovation and expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills in a complex, stakeholder environment, and broad-based experience across the span of marketing and communications skills.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Leadership
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, campaigns and tactics aligned with RCM's Learning Systems business objectives to drive product adoption and usage, increased sales revenues and increased awareness of RCM's portfolio of education products and offerings.
  • Collaborate with Learning Systems leadership to translate business goals into actionable marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with fellow Marketing Directors within RCM's centralized, shared service marketing department to ensure alignment with organization-wide brand strategy and guidelines and identify and leverage cross-promotional opportunities and synergies between Learning Systems and RCM's other groups and programs.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Business Development, Product and Finance teams to align marketing efforts with business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze trends and developments in areas such as music education, digital learning, consumer insight and product marketing, with an ability to translate innovation and insights into marketing and communications campaigns and tactics.

Product Marketing
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for all key Learning Systems products and programs, including but not limited to Smart Start, The RCM Certificate Program, Publications, Exams and Digital Offerings.
  • Partner with Product Managers and on-the-ground Sales & Business Development Leads to create compelling messaging and value propositions, tailored to specific audiences and segments, including students, parents, teachers, and institutional partners.
  • Partner with RCM's extensive network of strategic dealer partners and distributors, to develop effective retail and merchandising campaigns.
  • Oversee the development of sales and marketing collateral, including brochures, digital content, and promotional campaigns.

Performance Measurement & Reporting
  • Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance, using data to refine strategies and achieve KPIs.
  • Budget development and management.

Additional
  • This role will involve occasional travel, supporting major conferences and events, strategic dealer relationships and other partnerships.
  • Performing other duties as required.


Job Requirements

What We're Looking For
  • 8 - 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, preferably in education, publishing, or digital learning sectors.
  • Proven experience in leading marketing strategies for product-based portfolios.
  • Education in business administration, marketing, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of music education paradigm and market is an asset.
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles, including brand management, product lifecycle management, go-to-market strategies, and digital marketing.
  • Skilled in positioning and promoting a variety of products, including digital and physical offerings.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in managing marketing budgets and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Exceptional leadership and project management abilities.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing marketing professionals.
  • Comfortable navigating fast paced and evolving environments.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for music education and familiarity with the RCM's mission and programs is a significant asset.
Salary Range
  • $125,000 - $145,000 per annum
Additional Information
  • Office environment with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours.
  • This role includes oversight of a marketing team.
  • Up to 15% of travel is needed for the role.
  • Hybrid work arrangement, being on-site three (3) days per week at the RCM building in Toronto, Ontario, inclusive of RCM's All Staff days.
