Purpose:

The goal of the Project Manager is to take accountability for managing and monitoring the project life cycle, from award to close, to ensure the projects are executed within scope, budget, schedule, and quality. The Project Manager leads the project team to ensure smooth execution of activities to exceed the customer's expectations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Takes overall accountability for execution of the contract. Leads, manages and controls projects according to the company Account Management Process (PD-005) by directing, deciding, coordinating and communicating with all internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project life cycle (Shop crews, field crews, Resource Planning, Application Engineering, Quality, Safety, Warehouse & Logistics, Finance, Operations Management, Data management and Data analysis teams) including the management of the project budget allowance to ensure safe and successful execution while optimizing project costs.
  • Responds to project inquiries from both customers and the internal team regarding project related matters (both email and phone communication). Maintains constant communication with both the customer and project team throughout the project life cycle. Communicates initial Data Quality Assessment (DQA) to the customer
  • Provides early intervention support and guidance with the Customer's representative during the planning and preparation phase with the aim of acquiring high quality data for the complete pipeline (includes cleaning, geometry proofing, and flow conditions) in turn managing client relationship to promote future business opportunities.
  • Leads the key project meetings and creates/presents project specific presentations to the project team (Robot build preparation meetings, Internal Kick-off Meetings, Internal pre-job meetings, internal operational closeout meetings, internal financial closeout meetings, and client pre-job meetings/site visits).
  • Gathers and analyzes project specific details and documentation provided by the Sales Team and clients Project Managers. Using that information, populates the Inspection Management Plan (IMP), SharePoint and organizes client provided pipeline data (Pipe Tally, AGM information, Flow and SCADA information) In addition, on turnkey projects, selects equipment to be used to push the inspection equipment (water pumps, compressors, nitrogen unit, etc.) and the selection and evaluation of cleaning tools and gauge plates.
  • Manage all relevant safety reporting and client safety data for their individual projects. Ensures inspections assigned to their projects have the proper training and coordinates with HSE Manager to verify and/or assign additional training.
  • Ensures professional interactions and communications from employees involved in Customer exchanges. Anticipates, guides, and advises Customer's preparation needs to optimize the pipeline inspection.
  • Performs an active role in continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with other departments
  • Manages or executes when required invoice for each project when milestones are met. Reviews and approves all invoices for accuracy against the Purchase Order.
  • Attends customer meetings to provide support for the technical and operational aspects of sales conversations including support for proposals of special conditions in pipelines not previously inspected or in new challenge pipelines (Gas pipeline or complex facilities)
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • An associate degree or Technician's degree in Engineering, Business or related education is preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or related education is preferred
  • A Project Management Certificate (PMP) is an advantage
  • A certificate in Offshore Petroleum Industry Training is required for offshore Project Management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management is preferred
  • Experience in the management of projects in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred
  • Experience as an ILI Field Technician Level I preferred
  • Knowledge of full cycle/stages of pipeline inspection projects, from Customer Inquiry to Revenue Recognition is preferred
  • Knowledge of ILI technology, pipeline regulations and codes for onshore and offshore projects is required
  • Must have experience successfully delivering presentations to Customers
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or other project management frameworks.

  • Pipeline Inspection Expertise - Experience managing inline inspection (ILI), integrity assessments, and maintenance projects in the oil and gas sector
  • Ability to perform unit conversions, pressure calculations, flow rate estimations, and cost projections for proposals and projects
  • Ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to develop and execute detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones
