Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Space Management and Planning supports the development and execution of strategic planning projects in support of the goals and objectives of the organization. The position supports the day-to-day space planning operations including performing spatial analytics, initiating projects and communicating with stakeholders.

Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Space Management and Planning supports the development and execution of strategic planning projects in support of the goals and objectives of the organization. The position supports the day-to-day space planning operations including performing spatial analytics, initiating projects and communicating with stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversight of project planning for future projects and project requests within existing facilities for compliance with codes, regulations and FGI Guidelines.
- Participate in developing the Administrative Space strategy for UI Health
- Leads review of space requests for UI Health. Collaborates with internal clients to validate space requests and develop space plan options in compliance with FGI Guidelines, building and life safety codes.
- Prepares space assignment recommendations for final review and approval by Director, Space Management and Planning and hospital leadership.
- Coordinate planning and execution of projects to further the hospitals mission by providing direction on code compliance and maintaining regulatory guidelines.
- Supports the Director in revisions to space management and planning policies that impact all UIH locations.
- Interaction with departmental leadership across the organization.
- Participates in the Space Committee to support the space request process.
- Collaborates with the director on preparing UIH space requests to be submitted to the University.
- Responsible for the operation of the Space Management and Planning team in the absence of the Director.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Hospital/Healthcare Space Planning experience minimum 7 years
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Planning required
- Licensed architect or NCIDQ certification required
- Minimum of 7 yrs Experience with the FGI guidelines and Illinois Hospital Licensing Act
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Powerpoint, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet
- Presentation skills
