Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for an Azure Senior DevOps Engineer to an appropriately qualified individual within the Global IT Services. This role may be performed remotely within the United States.

Role Description

Weare seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure Sr DevOps Engineer with astrong development background to join our dynamic engineering team. The idealcandidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, andmanaging scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on the Azure platform,leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and cutting-edgetechnologies. The Azure Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving ourcloud initiatives, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of ourAzure cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

• CloudInfrastructure Design and Implementation: Design and implement robust,scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on the Azure platform,adhering to industry best practices and company standards.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform to define and manage Azurecloud infrastructure as code, ensuring consistency, repeatability, andtraceability across environments.
• Version Control: Manage and maintain version control systems, particularlyusing Git (github), to ensure codebase integrity and collaboration.
• Cloud Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools usingPython to streamline Azure cloud operations, deployments, and resourcemanagement tasks.
• Cloud Monitoring and Optimization: Implement comprehensive monitoring andlogging solutions to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, securityrisks, and cost optimization opportunities within the Azure environment.
• Cloud Security: Enforce security best practices and compliance standardsthroughout the Azure cloud infrastructure, including access controls, dataencryption, and vulnerability management.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, includingdevelopment, operations, and security, to deliver end-to-end Azure cloudsolutions.
• Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Provide timely troubleshooting andincident response for Azure cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime andimpact on business operations.
• Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans andprocedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster or systemfailure.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Azurecloud infrastructure, configurations, runbooks, and procedures to ensureknowledge sharing and continuity.

Role Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on the
• Azure platform.
• Proven expertise in using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and Azure cloud operations tasks.
• Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture principles, networkingconcepts, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to workeffectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for learning and stayingup-to-date with the latest Azure cloud technologies.
• Understanding of advanced networking concepts and experience with Azurenetworking services such as Vnet, VPN, and Load Balancing.
• Understanding of PKI infrastructure (certificates, encryption keys, andauthentication protocols).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Github Actions, or AzureDevOps.
• Experience with logging and monitoring products such as Splunk and Datadog.
• Experience with Azure cloud cost optimization strategies.

Certifications:

• Possess the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification or higher.
• Hashicorp certified terraform associate.

Salary Range
117,000.00 - 195,000.00 USD
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
