Senior Project Manager - Data Integration and Management

Location: Vancouver, BC (On-site 2 days per week; Remote for the remainder)

About the Role:

We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a transformative data management project for one of our prominent public sector clients. This role is designed for a professional who is ready to steer the implementation of a cutting-edge Data Integration and Management platform, enhancing our client's data strategy with an emphasis on cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Spearhead the implementation of a new cloud-based data management system, transitioning from legacy systems to modern SaaS platforms. This includes overseeing the migration of critical data sets into the new system.
  • Data Strategy and Governance: Manage data migration strategies ensuring data integrity, governance, and compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, defining requirements, managing expectations, and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Oversight: Handle all aspects of project management including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Compliance and Methodology: Implement robust project methodologies, uphold governance standards, manage risks, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and laws.
  • Vendor and System Integration: Coordinate with external vendors to ensure seamless integration of new services with existing systems.
  • Problem Solving and Reporting: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues while providing regular, detailed updates to project sponsors and stakeholders.


Top 3 Required Skills:

  • Data Management Project Experience: Proven track record of leading at least two large-scale data integration or management projects, with expertise in data migration, quality assurance, and governance.
  • Advanced Project Management: Over 10 years of experience in IT project management, with specific experience in cloud solutions. Must hold a PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional skills in managing diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring clear communication, and translating technical data into business insights.

  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years in project management, with a focus on data integration, management, or similar technologies.
    • Successful history with complex IT projects involving cloud migrations and data management.
    • Deep understanding of data governance, quality management, and related principles.
    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities.
    • Must be based in Vancouver, BC, with availability to work on-site twice a week.
    • PMP or a similar project management certification is mandatory.
    • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

    Additional Information:

    • This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in Vancouver twice weekly, with flexibility for remote work the rest of the week.
