Overview

FedWriters is building a team to provide comprehensive program support to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) across key areas including program planning, review management, and oversight activities. This role provides critical program management support to advance NSF's research initiatives in artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, and human-computer interaction.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time onsite position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at NSF Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation, staffing, and clearing of program solicitations and management plans
  • Develop communication materials and slides for program officer presentations
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops and community engagement activities
  • Maintain process documents, templates, and timelines for proposal review
  • Support proposal panel organization and reviewer assignments
  • Assist with panelist recruitment and reviewer database management
  • Aid in conducting reviewer surveys and data curation
  • Coordinate panel scheduling and documentation
  • Support interagency and community planning activities


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Experience managing research projects and teams
  • Demonstrated experience in research and program management
  • Strong project management skills with complex projects and budgets
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Experience with collaboration tools including SharePoint, Teams, Box, and Slack
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in federal grant management
  • Knowledge of NSF programs and processes
  • Background in artificial intelligence, data science, or related fields
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to automate and innovate processes
