Overview

In this role, your primary responsibility is effectively translating business requirements into technical solutions and managing the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Foster awareness, understanding and respect for diverse perspectives while managing and resolving any conflict between cross-functional team members.
  • Hold other teams accountable and make solid assessments when escalations are needed.
  • Lead end-to-end project management for the implementation of IT applications within the healthcare industries and corporate functions.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate with vendors to procure necessary hardware, software, and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate system testing and training sessions to ensure smooth transition of IT services into production.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained and accessible for reporting purposes.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and deviations from the project plan.
  • Travel to project locations at key points in the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement of IT processes, tools and templates.
  • Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with company goals to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that reflects customer needs, market trends, and technological advancements.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including healthcare and insurance professionals, and internal teams to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Ensure alignment between product development and business objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related communications.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product status, progress, and upcoming releases.
  • Work with developers and analysts to ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are clear and concise.
  • Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the development team is aligned with business goals.
  • Working alongside our Direct of Software Engineering to coordinate the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create user-friendly interfaces and workflows.
  • Conduct market research and user interviews to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze competitive products and industry trends to inform product decisions.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track product performance against them.
  • Collect and analyze user feedback and data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure products comply with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Prioritize and communicate product needs based on business requirements and market insights.
  • Participate in Scrum events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
  • Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Evaluate feedback and user insights at each iteration to inform product enhancements and optimizations.
  • Coach and train the development team on product requirements and features.
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) as an IT Product Owner and/or IT project manager, preferably within IT healthcare/insurance industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of 3rd party Sales and/or proprietary application implementations.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and implementing compliance measures within IT projects.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or similar.
  • Experience leveraging lean/Six Sigma methodologies a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, LucidChart).
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for project resource planning, task tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Travel - occasional overnight required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels in all manners of communication (oral and written).
  • Experience getting work done through others without direct authority.
  • Strong desire to excel and achieve results.
  • Strong urgency and able to practice a high level of confidentiality.
  • Basic understanding of software development technologies and processes to make informed product decisions.
  • Ability to analyze data and user feedback to identify trends and prioritize product features.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with user research and data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
