Overview

The individual hired will work out of either the OVG office in New York or Denver and lead the Hospitality and Experiential team within the Global Partnerships Division of OVG; the sponsorship and marketing arm of Oak View Group (OVG). Suitable for the role are smart, ambitious and commercially aggressive professionals who have a track record of success in the sports & entertainment sponsorship space specifically executing world class hospitality and experiential marketing programs. This candidate will be instrumental in building a new team inside OVG GP to 1) create a world-class hospitality and experiential practice focused on consumer/B2B brands that ultimately will drive incremental revenue for the Brand Consulting and Solutions team 2) manage existing client work across US Based and global events 3) support hospitality and experiential requests across Global Partnerships sales team and other OVG divisions as needed. This candidate will have the a good mix of strategic thought leadership and operational excellence.

This role pays an annual salary of $160,000 to $210,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a range of hospitality and experiential events from multi-day global event programs to intimate same day sports and music events for 2-2000 guests.
  • Oversee all facets of the programs including budget, accommodations, F&B, security, transportation, gifting, creative look and feel, staffing and KPI identification and measurement.
  • Creation and management of multi-million dollar budgets with fluency in both the macro and specific elements.
  • Build, lead, and manage a team of diverse professionals focused on delivering first and foremost for our clients with operational excellence that is second to none.
  • Collaborate across OVG divisions - Brand Consulting, Global Partnerships, OVG Venues, OVG 360 - as well as with external partners and key stakeholders to secure appropriate assets and experiences and ensure seamless integration and execution of hospitality and experiential programs.
  • Support business development efforts by retaining existing clients and securing new clients via industry recognized efforts, proactive network outreach, and response to inbound requests.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degree. Master's degree/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with demonstrated development, management and execution skills in hospitality, events, and or experiential marketing ideally within the sports & entertainment industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic marketing concepts (e.g., brand positioning, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, category analysis, etc.) to the hospitality, event, and/or experiential marketing space.
  • Experience working in global events, internationally, including strong relationships and experience working with brands, properties, leagues, media rights holders and domestic and international organizing committees.
  • A natural curiosity about technology as well as a creative and risk-taking mentality.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to quickly understand brands/partners' business models and research solutions for how to grow their business.
  • Highly driven self-starter, with ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to manage long-term projects as well as quick turnaround assignments.
  • Strong management and leadership skills with desire to develop and manage junior talent/staff.
