We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will lead innovations and product development for professional lighting luminaires designed for interior commercial applications. This role is pivotal in driving the development of an entirely new lighting category, ensuring its widespread specification across the United States.

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will lead innovations and product development for professional lighting luminaires designed for interior commercial applications. This role is pivotal in driving the development of an entirely new lighting category, ensuring its widespread specification across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and vision for a portfolio of products, aligning with company goals, market trends, and customer insights.
- Define and maintain the product roadmap, prioritize features, and guide data-driven decision-making.
- Anticipate market trends and proactively recommend strategic actions to maintain a competitive edge.
Project Management
- Prepare, execute and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met while addressing any risks or delays proactively.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful product delivery.
- Report regularly on project progress, including quality, status, timelines, and budgets.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to translate product requirements into actionable specifications and user experiences.
- Work with stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and foster a shared understanding of product priorities.
- Represent LightArt R&D at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements as a product evangelist.
Technical Development
- Lead product architecture and concept studies for new product development.
- Oversee mechanical design for new products, ensuring functionality, performance, quality, and manufacturability meet project and cost targets.
- Conduct design verification through tolerance analysis, mechanical strength simulation, mockup testing, production, and validation testing.
- Monitor and improve quality and cost for mass-production products.
Market Analysis and Growth
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor product performance metrics, gather user feedback, and iterate to enhance customer satisfaction and adoption.
Requirements
- Education: Engineering or Industrial Design degree in mechanics, electronics, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge of LED components and lighting systems.
- Strong mechanical design skills and proficiency with simulation software.
- Familiarity with material properties and processes such as die-casting, plastic injection, sheet metal, and extrusion.
- Experience:
- At least 10 years of proven industry experience with an emphasis on development.
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of product development methodologies.
- A successful track record of delivering technical products from concept to launch in dynamic environments.
- Skills:
- Ability to estimate task durations and create actionable plans.
- Strong prioritization and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Mindset: Enthusiastic about innovation and committed to continuous improvement.
